Better Decisions
I would like to welcome Morag from MOONSTIR to the list of friends. Morag is a dedicated, kind professional focused on health and wellbeing.

Over the years, Morag has evidenced the change that counselling can support balancing mental health particularly around stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and bereavement. Having been in Human Resources in SMEs for 20+ years plus a volunteer with CLAN Cancer Support and Aberdeen Counselling and Information Services, Morag truly believes that we all have the capacity to change. Her genuine interest in helping others with their life journey shines through.
With a solid understanding of business via her MSc in Human Resources, her developed understanding of psychology via her BSc and now her Diploma in Counselling and Group work, Morag’s ongoing professional development and client-centred psychotherapy means she will work closely with you to develop an appropriate action plan to support your needs.

What is Morag offering?

Morag is focusing on Cognitive-behavioural therapy, an approach which suggests the way that we think and interpret situations has an impact on how we feel and behave. Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) focuses on current difficulties with a view to changing the ‘here and now’ rather than looking to the past for causes of distress.

Cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) is usually shorter in duration, often between 6-12 sessions. You as the client are expected to take a more active role in therapy by applying the new skills and techniques you learn to help makes changes to your thoughts and behaviours. There is evidence to support the effects of CBT with a variety of problems such as depression, anxiety, phobias, stress, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, this type of therapy may not suit everyone as there is a need for you to apply the techniques offered and undertake some work yourself. If this isn’t suitable for you, Morag can offer different techniques too.
