What is Nutritional Therapy?

A Nutritional Therapist evaluates the health of their client and gives dietary and lifestyle recommendations based on their current health situation and goals.  We support everyone as an individual taking into account the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the whole person, when assessing health problems.

We aim to seek out and advice on ways to support the underlying cause of disease, rather than suppressing the symptoms.

This type of personalised therapy involves dietary changes, lifestyle programmes and the use of nutritional supplements if necessary.

Nutritional therapy can support a broad range of health conditions and many practitioners specialise in an area after training.

Practitioners do not recommend Nutritional Therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer clients with 'red flag' signs or symptoms to their medical professional. Laura frequently works as part of a multi-disciplinary health team to support clients.

Consultation options

After our initial chat we can work out which option is best to support you

Due to the current global situation regarding COVID-19, all consultations will be undertaken as online consultations until further notice.

In your online appointment you will receive the same level of care and confidentiality as face-to-face consultations.

Before we start

Once you have booked an appointment you will be sent a confidential health history, lifestyle, mood and food diary form. Please fill this in and send it back to me before our first consultation.

Is Nutritional Therapy a long term approach?

My aim is to give you the tools to make healthy lifestyle changes and work towards your health goals. Changes that benefit your body for the rest of your life are not achieved in a quick fix. We are all individuals and my clients come to see me at different stages of their health journeys. Because of this I offer 3 packages for clients which will provide different levels of support.

Alongside the one-one personalised support I am launching an Emotional Health Programme.

I do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease as I am not a medical doctor. I am an accredited Nutritional Therapist and Naturopath, my role is to offer support, information and choice giving you empowerment to make positive lifestyle changes.

Nutritional Therapy is not about yoyo dieting or eating fad foods. It is about science, support and sustainability.

Initial Consultation

We start with a one hour consultation, where we will discuss your health concerns and goals. We will delve further into your current diet, health and lifestyle, and medical history.

I will then put together a programme detailing specific food, nutrient and lifestyle recommendations that are designed to help you achieve your personal health goals.

The programme that I send you will be tailored to you and your life. If you don't get home until late in the evening, if you have children or if you don't enjoy cooking we can chat about what is realistic for you. My aim is to give you manageable changes that will build up to make a big difference. I offer 3 packages which provide different levels of support and involvement from me. Each package will begin with the initial consultation.

Some functional medicine tests may be recommended as part of the initial consultation to further personalise your programme.
